Lawn Winter Tips for Tasmania 2022
Welcome to Winter in Tasmania.
Sowing is possible in the winter months but germination is much slower. As growth slows down in the cooler months its best to raise mowing heights. Doing this allows the plant more sunlight.
To get the best conditions in germination use Kickstart Starter Fertiliser and calculate how much you need using 3kgs of fertiliser per 100 sqm.
Although sowing in the winter can be successful, keep in mind that germination will be slower due to the cold soil temperatures. For best results, stick to cool-season grasses.
