Nitro Green Iron Boost Fertiliser
N:P:K 20 : 0.85 : 2 + 5% Iron | Professional-grade granular | 5kg
Give your lawn the deep, dark green of Australia's best sports stadiums. Nitro Green Iron Boost is a professional turf fertiliser with added iron, used by turf managers on sports grounds and stadiums around the country.
It gives your lawn a rapid colour boost, strengthens roots, and improves resistance to disease. Its homogenous granules, where every granule contains the same balance of nutrients, give an even spread of nutrients across your whole lawn for fast nitrogen uptake.
Suitable for all lawn types, including Buffalo, Kikuyu, Couch, Ryegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Fescues and Bentgrass.
Can be sent to Western Australia.
What's in it?
Nitrogen (20%) drives leaf growth and green colour.
Phosphorus (0.85%) supports root development. The low phosphorus level means this product can be sent to WA.
Potassium (2%) helps your lawn handle heat, drought, cold and disease.
Iron (5%, as iron sulphate) deepens colour for that rich, dark green stadium look.
Why fertilise?
Every time you mow, your lawn loses nutrients, and over time it loses colour and vigour. A regularly fed lawn grows thicker and greener, builds stronger roots, and has better resistance to disease.
How often should I use it?
We recommend fertilising at least four times a year: twice in spring and twice in autumn. These feeds prepare your lawn for the two toughest seasons, summer and winter.
Plus a winter feed: Nitro Green Iron Boost works effectively in cooler weather, so it's also recommended for winter fertilising. It's a great way to keep your lawn green through the months when many lawns lose colour.

How to apply
- Apply to a dry lawn at your chosen rate.
- For best results, use a broadcast fertiliser spreader. It spreads the granules evenly and avoids burning your lawn. See our range of Earthway Spreaders here.
- Sweep all hard surfaces before watering. Brush any granules off concrete, pavers and stone back onto the lawn. Iron can stain hard surfaces once it gets wet.
- Water in well.
- Wait 24 to 48 hours before mowing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a professional-grade fertiliser?
Yes. It's used on sports grounds and stadiums by turf managers across Australia.
What does the iron do?
Iron deepens your lawn's colour, giving it a rich, dark green. Combined with high nitrogen, it gives a fast and noticeable colour boost.
Can I use it in winter?
Yes. Nitro Green Iron Boost works effectively in cooler weather, so it's a good choice for a winter feed to help your lawn hold its colour.
Can this be sent to WA?
Yes. Its low phosphorus level means we can send it to Western Australia.
Will it stain my paths or driveway?
It can. Iron stains concrete, pavers and stone when wet, so always sweep granules off hard surfaces back onto the lawn before watering in.
Should I use the granular or the liquid Nitro Green?
Both give a deep iron green. The granular is a regular feed for your lawn through the year. The liquid is absorbed through the leaf for a rapid green-up within 5 to 7 days, ideal before a special event.
Will this burn my lawn?
Not when used correctly. Use the recommended rate, apply with a spreader for even coverage, and water in well.
Is it safe for kids and pets?
Once it's been watered in well and the lawn has dried, it's safe for your family and pets to use the lawn again. Keep kids and pets off while you're applying, and store the bag out of their reach.
