It's Spring! Time for some Spring Lawn Tips

Date: 31-08-2017

Spring is a wonderful time of year. A time to get back in the garden and begin to enjoy the warmer weather. Australian home owners love their lawns and take pride in their front and back yards.  There’s nothing better than the warmer weather arriving and being able to fire up the bbq again, spending time outdoors and the feel of soft green grass underfoot.

Preparing your lawn post-winter isn’t difficult. There are just a few maintenance jobs that make a huge difference to how your lawn looks and responds to the new season.

  • Clean up any weeds that have popped up in Winter.  Weeds will really take off as the warmer warther arrives so it’s best to get rid of them now!   Use a safe herbicide like Kontroller - a selective weed killer that will target and kill the weed only.
  • If you’re planning and planting your lawn from scratch use Clear Up Bio to delete any old woody grass or weeds.  It’s safe to use and sow your new lawn straight after it’s been cleared.
  • Find the right lawn seed for your new lawn by reading our Warm/Cool Season Grass Guide, prepare the soil by following the steps here.
  • Oversow now – grab our tips here.
  • Fertilise your existing lawn with high NPK fertiliser (All Season Reno)
  • Clear any leaves from your lawn to allow the sunlight and oxygen in.
  • Lower your mowing heights as your lawn starts to grow faster.
