CUSTOMER RESULTS - DEFIANT XRE TALL FESCUE (CASTLEMAINE, VIC)
Ken from Castlemaine, Victoria reached out to us and asked for suggestions for his lawn. He had 75sqm to cover with a meagre covering of unidentified type of grass which burnt off in the hot months plus some clover.
He wanted a lawn that stays green for most of the year as much as possible. His area is north-facing with a deal of dappled shade from numerous trees throughout the day.
Our recommendation:
Rapid Green Defiant XRE Fescue - a more drought-tolerant cool-season grass that will look great during Autumn, Winter, and Spring; this blend will stay green during the Summer when watered a couple of times a week
We recommended either 2-3 boxes of the 1kg size or 5kg and have some left for overseeding - which is more practical. Once it's up and running, Ken could overseed again in Spring to get it really healthy before the summer heat arrives.
We recommend watering this lawn in summer months to keep the green colour.
