Landscape Range Supreme Green Blend FAQs

1. When is the best time for sowing Supreme Green Blend?

Ideally sow in Spring and Autumn when temperatures are moderate, though it’s possible to sow year round in most Australian locations.  Germination will be slow in locations with very cold winters due to low soil temperatures.  Check our ‘Can I sow this in my Location?’ for specific times and tips.

2. How long until I see results?

In Optimal Conditions you may see germination in 8-10 days. Note: When sowing out of season this can take longer.

3. Will this stay green all year round?

Yes.  It can stay green all year round.  In warmer months the blend benefits from the 70% Tall Fescue which is a more drought tolerant cool season variety.  Note:  In summer we recommend deep watering at least a couple of times a week.  Depending on the severity of the summer heat and if water is unavailable during summer months this is challenging.  When irrigation is recommenced and temperatures drop this blend will usually recover well.

4. When will this lawn be the greenest?

70% tall fescue maintains better colour and density into the warmer months alongside perennial ryegrass’s fine, green colour. Once established, it will maintain great colour throughout cold winters and most seasons in Southern Australia. If there is no regular irrigation and very hot weather persists (summer) it will begin to struggle. If the area discolours or browns off, it can bounce back when irrigation and cooler temperatures return. Deep, irregular watering recommended for better colour in hot months (at least 2-3 times a week).
