CUSTOMER RESULTS: Shaddock Light Restoration Kikuyu Lawn
@shaddocklightrestoration did a fantastic job in transforming their backyard to a back lawn using our Turbocote Kikuyu as part of their massive reno project. Like us, they think a lawn is a big part of a home and they've made provisions to create the lawn as they renovate in Cobden, Victoria.
After carrying out excavation, drainage work plus adding top soil and removing rocks and sticks the team at Shaddock Light Restoration followed our tips and sowed the Kikuyu seed in November.
After 6 weeks it started to spread and thicken up and the before and after photos show how dramatic the difference is.
9 weeks down the track and and lots of lessons learned... here are a few tips from the team at Shaddock Restoration:
1. For larger areas, to save $$$, consider seeding your lawn instead of laying turf.
2. Do your research to find the most suitable type of grass for your climate and your area. We received some great recommendations from @greataussielawns & ended up choosing Kikuyu.

3. Dog owners - if you’re concerned about pee-stained lawns, adding 1-2 teaspoons of Greek yogurt into their diet can help. (Just note that dogs can be lactose intolerant & always contact your veterinarian with any concerns about changing your pet's diet)
4. Invest in a spreader. Find the right spreader product for your lawn project.
